July 9th, 2021-spiritual warfare memoirs – Confessions of a member who was spiritually attacked and succumbed:
- The fight was strong and overcame
- In the early part, there was a reminder of the lessons
- Didn’t say scripture or address the devil
- Wanted to stop but not enough
- Lost 8h of life
- Felt like a mess physically, emotionally and spiritually afterwards
- Felt guilty and didn’t want to play the God music or pray other than beg for forgiveness
- Didn’t want to reach out to others and chat as normal
- Didn’t want to talk to God the next day because of the guilt
- Was living in fear of punishment at each turn in the day so stress for high for the person
- When prayer or praise was offered, the thought of, “Is God really being glorified by you?” And “He is probably very angry with you so stop wasting your time?” What was the source of those thoughts?
We go to God and want Him to overcome difficulties that we don’t like but if the problem is part of our nature, it is a different story because we cling to our natural weaknesses.
Remember that in spiritual warfare:
- We don’t fight against people-2 Corinth 10:3-5
- We have simple steps-James 4:7
- We are not alone-1 Peter5:8-9
- Satan will be thrown out of heaven-Revelation 12:10
- Our will is to do what our father desires, who is your father?
We fight against spiritual forces-Ephe 6:10-18. Wear the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.
